Easy Digital Downloads Pro turns a WordPress site into a shop for digital products such as eBooks, software, music and video files.
Products can be sold singly, as variations with different pricing, or bundled together, and a guided setup wizard handles the initial configuration. Payments run through Stripe, PayPal, Square, Apple Pay, Google Pay and other processors, for one-time purchases and recurring subscriptions, with pay-what-you-want pricing as an option.
Native WordPress blocks cover product listings, checkout forms and customer account pages, and the checkout block works with Gutenberg, Elementor and other page builders.
After a sale, files reach the customer automatically through secure, time-limited download links with expiration controls and limits on download attempts. Each customer account keeps the purchase history, download access and detailed activity logs.
Content restriction limits paid content to customers who have access and manages member permissions, and the plugin works to prevent unauthorised file sharing with fraud prevention features. Discount codes can be restricted to one use, given maximum limits or tied to a custom date range.
Reporting covers revenue, customer lifetime value, sales trends and product performance. Date comparison tools track trends from one period to another, sales and revenue can be broken down by country and by payment method, and custom reports can be generated and exported.
For other systems, the plugin connects to over 100 third-party services, including email marketing platforms, accounting software and CRM systems, through API and webhooks, and a REST API supports custom integrations.
