This new feature allows users to engage with your gallery images by adding comments directly within the lightbox view. When users navigate to a Modula gallery, they can click on an image to open it in the lightbox, where they will see a button to add comments. This feature enhances user interaction and engagement, making it easy for visitors to leave feedback on individual images.

Installation & Requirements To use Modula Comments, ensure the following are installed and activated: Modula Lite (the core plugin) Modula Pro Comments Add-on For installation steps, refer to this guide. Enabling Comments for a Gallery To allow comments on a specific gallery, you need to go to your WordPress Dashboard > Modula > Galleries > Edit Gallery. Navigate to the Comments section > enable the Comments option.

This step is crucial as comments will not be available unless this option is enabled for each gallery. Viewing Comments for a Gallery To see the comments submitted on a gallery go to your WordPress Dashboard > Modula > Galleries > Click on the Comments icon next to the gallery. A section titled Comments on “Gallery Name” will appear, showing comments categorized under: Pending, Approved, Spam, Trash Each comment will display: Author of the comment The comment content Submitted on (date and time) Modula Image Comment (the image on which the comment was posted) Adding Comments on the Front-End To add comments from the front end, users will need to click on an image to open it in the lightbox > click on the Comments icon.

A section will appear displaying existing comments for that image (if any). Users need to fill in the following fields: Name, Email, and Comment. Note: If logged in, they can skip the name and email fields and directly submit their comment. Settings and Explanations To manage and configure comment settings, you need to go to your WordPress dashboard under Settings > Discussion.

Below is a breakdown of the available settings and how they impact the commenting experience. Please note that only the highlighted settings in the screenshot apply to our plugin. Other Comment Settings These settings provide additional control over who can comment and how comments function. Comment author must fill out name and email. Requires users to provide their name and email before submitting a comment.

If they are logged in, this step is skipped. Users must be registered and logged in to comment. Only allows comments from users who have registered an account and are logged in. This helps prevent spam and ensures accountability. Comment Pagination These settings control how comments are displayed and organized. Break comments into pages If enabled, pagination is activated, and the value from the Top-level comments per page section will be used.

If disabled, up to 100 comments per page will be shown, which is the maximum allowed by WordPress. -> Top-level comments per page (User-defined number)Defines how many parent (or original) comments are shown per page before pagination occurs. Before a Comment Appears These settings determine when a comment is published and whether it requires approval before appearing publicly. Comment must be manually approved. If this is checked, every comment submitted will be held for moderation until an admin or moderator manually approves it.

This helps prevent spam or unwanted comments from appearing on your site. Comment author must have a previously approved comment. If this is checked, only first-time commenters will require manual approval. Once an author has had one comment approved, their future comments will be published automatically. Avatars Avatars help personalize comment sections by displaying user images.

The settings allow control over how avatars are displayed. Show Avatars Maximum Rating This setting determines which types of avatars are allowed based on their content rating. ( G – Suitable for all ages; PG – May contain mild content; R – Intended for adult audiences; X – Contains highly mature content beyond the R rating.) Default Avatar Choose from the list for users without custom avatars.
