Coming Soon & Maintenance Mode Plugin For WordPress v1.12.0

Developer: TraslatabilityCategory: WordPress PluginsProLatest v1.12.0Updated yesterday

Displays a coming soon or maintenance page while collecting visitor email addresses for launch notification.

Put your site behind a coming soon or maintenance page and collect the email addresses of everyone waiting for it.

Everything you need to launch well

Coming soon, or maintenance

Two modes, and the difference is not decoration. Coming soon says your site is not live yet, and the address works like any other page, so you can share it while you build. Maintenance answers 503 with a Retry-After, so a crawler comes back instead of replacing your site with a holding page in its index.

Eighteen designs, none of them a template to configure

Quiet ones — Plain, Card, Split, Notice — and ones with something going on: Aurora's drifting lights, Glass over your photograph, a Spotlight that follows the pointer, Blueprint paper, a blinking Terminal, a Marquee band. Four of them arrange the page rather than colour it: Ledger's full-width thin lines, Rail's band of colour down the edge, Corner's words in the bottom corner of your picture, Postcard's picture across the top of a wide card. Pick one and override any of its four colours. No page builder, no template files, and every bit of motion stops for a reader who has asked for less.

A countdown that tells the truth

Counts to the opening time you set, in your site's own time zone. It is drawn with the right numbers already in it, so it reads correctly before any script runs, and it measures the visitor's clock against your server so a phone that is an hour fast still counts down to the right moment.

Collects addresses, and actually writes to them

A sign-up form built into the page, with the list kept on your own site. Switch the launch email on, and when you open, the plugin emails everybody who asked (it checks with you first when you open by hand, and when the scheduled opening runs more than a week late): in small batches, plain text, with a one-click unsubscribe, and nobody written to twice. Put the page back up while it is going out and it stops.

A link you can send a client

One address that lets somebody see the finished site without signing in and without a password. Their browser remembers for a week, so you send it once. Make a new link and everyone holding the old one is out immediately.

Cover part of a site, not all of it

Cover the shop while the blog carries on, or leave one contact page open while everything else waits. The same tick lists, searchable fields and address patterns every Traslatability plugin uses to decide where it applies.

  • A preview link for each person, each with its own end. Access →
Other
  • Preview Links lists your links: a name, the address to copy, when it ends
  • (never, or a date and time in your site's time zone), and the day it last
  • let somebody in. Remove shuts out only that link's holders from their next
  • visit, and New address gives one link a new address without touching the
  • others. An ended link lets nobody in, and the list says Ended. Your existing
  • link is the first row, Preview link, with no end and the same address, so
  • links already sent keep working. Exported settings files leave the links
  • out, and importing one keeps the site's own.
  • On a network, wp-activate.php made the account in an activation link and
  • only then showed your page. While your page covers the whole site and new
  • accounts are refused, it now shows your page before anything is made, and
  • the link works once your page comes down. WordPress runs only
  • network-activated plugins on that page, so the plugin needs to be
  • network-activated for it.
Fixed
  • An activation link opened while new accounts wait makes no account.

  • A Sign in link for the people you let in by role. Access → User Roles
  • Says when your sign-in page has been moved. If a plugin such as Login

  • It adds a Sign in link beside the password link that goes to your sign-in

  • whose role is not ticked is told so by name, with a Sign out link.
  • Security or WPS Hide Login has moved your sign-in page, the Access screen
  • names the address under the new switch, because the link shows it to

  • nothing else, however the address asks. While your site was closed,
  • ?pagename=&s= on a page you left open, in its address or in a form sent to
  • it, listed every post, page and product, because WordPress reads a word with
  • nothing after the = as a search for everything. With your front page left
  • open and a page chosen as your front page, adding ?order=asc or ?year= to
  • its address showed your latest posts. Those now get your closed page; your
  • front page, a campaign tag and a page number show as before.
  • Cache, a change to what visitors get, such as switching the page on or off,
  • pressed its Purge All, which also deletes its combined CSS and JS files,
  • empties the object cache and PHP's code cache, clears Cloudflare where
  • LiteSpeed is set to, and leaves "Purged all caches successfully." on your
  • next screen. It now empties LiteSpeed's cached pages only. On a network, WP
  • Super Cache is emptied for this site alone, where it emptied every site's.
Fixed
  • A page left open under Excluded addresses shows that page, and
  • Page caches are emptied only as far as a change needs. With LiteSpeed
