ACF Extended Pro is an all-in-one enhancement suite that improves both WordPress and Advanced Custom Fields. It builds on ACF Pro.

Field groups can be synced to local files in two different ways. PHP sync is automatic: whenever a field group is updated, the plugin creates, includes and updates a local PHP file for that group.

JSON sync is selective: you choose which field groups are written to local JSON files, and a warning appears if one of those files has been deleted by hand. A Force Sync option keeps the JSON files matched to the field groups stored in the database at all times.

Relationship, post object, user and taxonomy term fields gain an advanced bidirectional setting, also called post-to-post. Linked fields then update each other automatically, and the setting also works inside groups and clones.

A manager for WordPress post types and taxonomies sits alongside managers for ACF options pages and block types and for WordPress options.

Validation rules can combine AND/OR conditions with custom error messages, set separately for the admin area and the front end. Field group permissions decide which roles can view and edit a group on the post edit screen.

The Pro feature list also includes a payment field for Stripe and PayPal Express, and Performance Mode optimizes metadata. Multilingual sites are covered through WPML and Polylang support.
